Rayne Lodge
Round 3 of the 2021 Club Championship was fished on Sunday at Rayne Lodge near Braintree. Eighteen members and guests fished in good conditions after a cold start. Winner on the day was Secretary, Steve Parker, out for the first time in over a year with a Carp bag of for 30lb 14oz followed by Keith Hicks with a similar bag for 25lb 13oz. Third place was Barry Coleman on 22lb 10oz. Plenty of silver fish caught but you needed Carp to boost your weight. No catch shots as our weighing procedures exclude following the scales so some nice views instead. Match 4 takes us to How End Fisheries near Bedford, fishing Yasis Lake on Sunday 9th May. Details will follow from the Match Manager, Steve Bence.

How End
Round 4 of the 2021 Club Championship was fished on Sunday at Yasi’s Lake on the How End Fishery near Bedford. Fourteen members and guests contested the match in great weather. The top four weights all came from adjacent pegs with the winner being Gary Tunbridge with a Carp and Ide bag of 68lb 1oz followed by Brian Harmer on the next peg with a similar bag for 49lb 6oz. Third place was Peter Fish on 45lb 2oz. Plenty of fish caught but you needed Carp to boost you weight. Some catch shots taken by our scalesman as our weighing procedures exclude following the scales. Match 5 takes us to Bures Lake, an LAA water near Colchester on Sunday 23rd May. Details will follow from the Match Manager, Steve Bence
MATCH REPORT AND PHOTOS
Bures Lake
Fished on Sunday, Round 5 of the 2021 Club Championship was fished on Bures Lake, an LAA fishery near Colchester. Ten members contested the match in blustery and showery weather. Following an unsettled week of weather prior to the match, the fish seems slow to respond on this prolific fishery. A beautiful fishery, well maintained and clean and a credit to the LAA fishery team. Now for the fishing, best fish a Carp of 7lb 14oz to Steve Parker and two Tench for Roger Glindon, the best being 3lb 8oz. The match ended in a tie between Keith Hicks and Doug Howell who both decided to target the voracious shoals of Rudd as a means of amassing a reasonable weight. Both finished on 10lb 13oz with Third place going to Steve Parker with his single Carp. Match 6 is on Sunday, June 6th and takes us to the Clavering Fishery near Saffron Walden on the Match Lake. Details will follow from the Match Manager, Steve Bence.
