COVID LATEST - RULE

CORONAVIRUS INFO    ANGLING TRUST COVID INFO

You can fish but must do so locally, individually and NO NIGHT FISHING.

All club waters are open and we believe the LVRPA will reinstate the correct combinations on the consortium locks today. If you are travelling out of your area to fish a Club Water that is your responsibility and a risk you take if you are stopped by the police and fined. It’s not really about districts but more to do with your local fishing grounds. You can't drive miles to one of you favourite rivers or lakes knowing there is a more local river or lake closer.

Stay safe, Be careful and let's hope this is the last lockdown.

COVID LATEST - RULE

CORONAVIRUS INFO    ANGLING TRUST COVID INFO

Due to the current lockdown restrictions placed on all of us I have been informed by our Fishery Landlords that Angling must cease on ALL our Fisheries forthwith.

The LVRPA have stated that the combination locks will be removed from both the Turnford and Fishers Green Consortium entrances. The Relief Channel, Nursery and Friday Lakes both come under this enforcement and will be checked. The Environment Agency and Police have been asked to enforce the shutdown of Brookfield Lake. The Council and Police will be checking Faints Lake.

If you are on our waters and reading this please pack up and leave ASAP.

According to the government we are all allowed some daily exercise outdoors on our own.

The situation regarding Club Bailiffs visiting our waters has not been made clear but I would ask any members visiting any club water for exercise to note any non-compliance and call the police on 101 to report it. Let’s hope that this will be our last lockdown and some form of normality can return by the end of February.

Please Stay Safe.

No secrets, the rules are there to be read and understood. If in doubt ask!

FRIDAY LAKE PARKING

FRIDAY LAKE    RULES

Due to current problems, details are still to be finalised as to how to access a key and this will be made known shortly and the system will be in use sometime later this year.
Once the Fishery Offices of the Park are back at their desks I will continue discussions.

Basic Facts

Members will be able to park by Cheshunt Lock again but on a controlled and limited basis. A maximum of Five Parking spots only with numbered keys and corresponding numbered Parking Permits to be displayed. This will enable the Rangers to check for non-authorized Parking. These Keys together with the Parking permits will be signed out for an agreed period, and then returned by an agreed time. A register of the members loaning the Keys is to be kept and a time limit for each loan period set. It may be necessary to limit usage so that no 'hogging' of the system occurs and every member has an equal opportunity to take part.

It has not yet been decided who, in the Club will manage this process.

IMPORTANT - TO ALL MEMBERS

corona virus   Lake Closures
UPDATE

Getting information about opening our fisheries tomorrow (Wednesday 13th May) has been very difficult. Yes - you can fish during the day under the current guidelines.

From our current understanding, the Angling Trust have gone back on to the government for clarification whether overnight angling is permitted.

That answer is due tomorrow (13/05/2020). So, for now, night fishing on our lakes (that usually permit it i.e. Brookfield and Friday Lake) is NOT allowed. So you will need to leave the fishery at dusk/sunset.

Things may change soon. That also goes for the lakes at Fishers Green, Turnform Consortium, Nursery Pit and top of Landgridge. This post is based on the latest information that the Chairman has (at 15:30)

We also understand that there may be conflicting news at this time and believe that some other sources may have jumped the gun in making announcements. We have to adhere to the governments guidelines, therefore the above stands for all our members and their tickets to affiliate waters.

Apologies for taking so long to post this but need to be accurate.

Friday Lake

Some Good News

In 2013 we lost access to parking at Cheshunt Lock to fish Friday Lake due to LVRPA Keys being illegally cut and sold on. I can now report that we have agreed with the LVRPA that members can park by Cheshunt Lock again. This will be limited to a maximum of Five Parking spots only and the keys will be issued by the Club. These Keys will be numbered, signed out for an agreed period, and then returned by the agreed time. Final details as to how to access a key will be made known shortly and the system will be in use by 1st April this year

Fishers Green Consortium

PLEASE READ

There will be significant disruption along lengths of the river over the next few weeks with the river restoration work and also the building of the New Bitten hide will be undertaken. This is obviously going to raise some comments from a few anglers but hopefully they can see that some short term disruption for the rest of this season will be for the long term benefit to the river.

The River Restoration will include a bank reinforcement on the first bend up from the bailey bridge and instream groynes along the straight between the top car park and pylon bend plus tree and instream groynes at the very top of our section. Some temporary path closures will be needed. This work will only be carried out during the working week so weekend all will be fishable. This part of the works will be for approx. 6 to 8 weeks and starts from the end of next week (around Feb 10th). There will be contractors equipment taking up some parking places in both the middle and top car parks. This work is the culmination of three years of meetings between the Consortium, The LVRPA, the Environment Agency and the contractors, Aquamaintain. We do appreciate that the final weeks of the River season are not the ideal time for us but we have to take into consideration the Bird Nesting Season and the availability of the Contractor. It’s short term pain for long term gain. Please bear with us over this period.

Scheduled to start on March 9th, the new Bitten hide will be take approx 16 weeks for the demolition and construction of the new one. This will result in longer term path closures particularly the foot path from the bitten hide upstream to the path fork from the river around 70 acre which will be an access route for construction traffic. Their equipment will take up some of the public car park by the toilets. Construction traffic will enter by our Gate, cross the River by the Bailey Bridge before going down steam to the construction site. Much of the work will be after the river season has closed but access to this area of Seventy Acres will be denied while work is in Progress.

We have tried to lessen the impact of the work on anglers but are continually referred back to Health and Safety Considerations. Be assured that we will monitor all work that affects the Fishery.
